One of my key priorities this term has been enhancing our facilities and infrastructure. Upgrading our facilities not only provides residents with quality amenities but also helps attract new people to our community. At the same time, maintaining reliable roads, sewer systems, and accessible water must remain a top priority. Click on the link below to learn more on these two important priorities.
People choose communities where they can build a life, and that starts with strong employment opportunities. We must remain open to welcoming larger companies that bring jobs with livable wages, while at the same time supporting our local businesses—the true backbone of our community. By striking this balance, we can create sustainable growth that benefits both families and entrepreneurs.
Safety is a right for everyone in our community. As a Council, we must ensure that every resident and visitor—no matter who they are—feels welcome, supported, and secure in our town. Focusing on two initiatives, Indigenous Reconciliation and addressing homelessness has been the majority focus here. Great strides have been taken, but more work needs to be done.
Taking pride in our community starts with a strong beautification plan. The Town must lead by example through the maintenance and enhancement of municipal lands, while also encouraging businesses and residents to contribute to creating a more attractive and welcoming community.
Our community is feeling the impact of rising living costs, and it’s important that we acknowledge this reality. At the same time, we must remain committed to providing the high-quality services that our residents depend on every day.
